#poem #poetry #fernweh

Certain days are just

driving, or

wanting to.

When the sun gleams

like polished armor,

dazzled, dream-glossed

wide-awake imagination,

so that even in the snow, it says,

“Cast off your coat,

leave everything

and go.”

And even though it’s cold--

you know it is--

the people outside breathe dragon-breath clouds--

you believe it.

Then it’s

“Where are my keys?”

You have a full tank

and if there were no obligations

life would be perfect.
